Charter the Chesapeake Bay on a Grand Banks 42’ Classic Trawler
Currently we are unable to offer Penultimate for charter. Penultimate is representative of the boats we add to our charter fleet at different times.

Penultimate has cruised the Chesapeake Bay and eastern seaboard enough to know her own way. She is well equipped for cruising and offshore runs. Maintained and by Dickerson harbor, Penultimate has received the best of care and upgrades. This boat has the traditional teak decks, and teak cap and handrails around the entire deck. There is a dinghy cradle on the aft cabin top, the rig is used to ship and launch the dinghy. Penultimate has all the modern electronics for navigation and entertainment.
The 42 Classic layout has five berths, and there is always the settee for a child. There is also room to sleep outdoors on the flybridge.
Owner’s Stateroom
Penultimate Owner’s Stateroom layout with double and single berth, head with shower, bureau and large double door hanging locker.
As with other Grand Banks Boats, the “Hereshoff” styling is throughout with teak cabinetry and white paint.
Saloon
Penultimate saloon with teak cabinetry and parquet sole, and opening windows with blinds and screens. This boat has a port and starboard settee, teak yacht table, dry bar with ice maker, 2 GB chairs, and an icebox. The lower helm, with double helm seat, is forward of the “L” settee, and the straight galley is opposite on the port side. The saloon is equipped with up to date electronics: wifi TV, wifi TV channel box, Local digital TV antenna, and USB.
Galley
Galley looking aft with stainless steel sink, glass rack, upper and lower cabinets, drawer storage, under-counter refrigerator, range with oven, and dish locker. There is an opening window behind the sink. In this photo, you can see the port settee and TV in the saloon.
Lower Helm Station
Lower helm station with dual engine controls and instruments, 2 chart plotters (Raymarine & Garmin), teak GB wheel, chart locker to port of helm. There is great visibility through windshield and side (opening) windows. In the overhead electronics garage there is a Standard Horizon VHF/GPS/AIS, stereo, and autopilot controls.
Forward Stateroom
Forward of the galley and helm there is a companionway that leads down to the forward stateroom and head. There is a generous V-berth and hanging locker, drawer storage beneath the berth, an overhead hatch, and opening windows. The head has a shower with teak grating on the sole.

Penultimate has the traditional Grand Banks teak transom with teak steps to the extended teak swim platform with a stainless steel and teak swim ladder. There are teak cap and handrails around the decks with rail gates port and starboard. The decks are teak both main and flybridge. The dinghy is stowed on chocks on the aft cabin top. There is an electric boom system for launching and shipping the hard bottom inflatable dinghy.
There are stainless steel safety rails (with dodgers) around the flybridge deck and a BBQ grill. The upper helm station has dual engine controls and instrumentation, GB teak wheel, and windlass controls. For navigation there are autopilot controls, a VHF, hailer, and a chart box with a Lexan lid. There are 2 chart plotters that synch with the 2 below at the main helm.
