Charter a Grand Banks 42’ Motor Yacht on the Chesapeake Bay
Belle Vie has cruised the Chesapeake Bay extensively and is well equipped for cruising and offshore runs.Belle Vie’s Owners Stateroom is aft and is the full width of the boat. There is an island queen bed, two nightstands, a desk, shelves, bureaus, and hanging lockers. The Grand Banks styling is evident here in teak cabinetry, teak paneling, a white overhead, and white paint. There are ports all around for natural light, and an overhead opening hatch for ventilation. 16,000 BTU’s of air conditioning keep this cabin comfortable in the summer.
The aft head (B) is to port with teak cabinets, a marine toilet, and a porcelain sink.
Opposite the head, on the starboard side, is a separate shower (C) with a teak bench and teak grating over the shower pan with sump pump. There is a locker in the shower for soaps and shampoo.
The Belle Vie saloon has a teak parquet cabin sole, a large “L” settee to starboard with a dry bar and ice maker forward of the settee. There is a Grand Banks chair and an easy chair that matches the Grand Banks styling. A large teak yacht table with drop leaves accommodates 6 people easily for meals or games and is ideal for laying out charts and cruising guides for trip planning. There is an entry door to the saloon on the port side. Forward on the port side is a countertop with a cabinet beneath that can be accessed from the saloon or the galley below. There is a stereo and TV for entertainment. Large opening screened windows in the saloon provide great views, fresh air, and natural light. Tinted glass helps to keep the interior temperatures down, and provides additional privacy at night, plus there are blinds on the windows. The saloon has its own 16,000 BTU air conditioning system which runs off shore power or the generator.
The lower helm station is on the starboard side, forward of the dry bar. There are dual engine controls and instruments, a chart locker, and a GB teak wheel. A chart plotter is on the lower helm station, and the overhead electronics locker houses the VHF radio and autopilot controls. There is excellent visibility for the helmsperson through the three-window windshield, side windows, and windows on the aft end of the cabin house. The windshield has (3) windshield wipers for good visibility in wet weather. The helmsperson can easily access the deck through a door at the lower helm station.
Belle Vie has the ultimate galley. Custom designed and built by Grand Banks, the down galley is spacious, has ample storage, and is well thought out for preparing and cooking meals. Even though the galley is down a level from the saloon, the cook is not separated from the fun in the saloon because the overhead is open.
U-shaped Galley (E) with extensive counter space and well-thought-out storage.
The large double stainless steel sink is at the center of the galley with counter space on either side. When flipped over, the sink covers are cutting boards that sit securely in the sink. Outboard of the sink are a teak paper towel dispenser, and teak shelves and racks for dishes, mugs, and glasses. The cook accesses the freezer through the lid at the left of the sink, and dry storage through the lid to the right.
Forward of the dish rack is a cupboard for spices, oils, coffee, and tea. This cupboard is easily accessed when working at the stove.
Turning to the left from facing the sink, the refrigerator is beneath the large countertop, and the microwave oven is above. A large cupboard with louvered doors is outboard of the microwave.
When the cook turns to their right from facing the sink, the 3 burner propane stove and oven are in the center of the countertop. Pots and pans are stored beneath the range and in a large cabinet under the sink. Four drawers for cooking utensils, silverware, pot holders, dishtowels, baggies and tin foil, are conveniently located beneath the countertop inboard of the range. Additional storage for cleaning supplies and canned/bottled goods is provided in the large cabinet below the sink. There is access to the bilge through the galley sole where bottled and canned drinks can stay cool below the waterline. The companionway step treads are hinged. When the treads are open there is a large garbage bin, and storage for paper towels and additional bulky supplies.
The forward head (F) is located opposite the galley on the starboard side of the boat. There are cabinets above and beneath the vanity, and outboard of the marine toilet.
The forward shower (G) is aft of the toilet in the same cabin with teak trim, shelves, and a teak grate over the shower pan with sump pump.
The forward stateroom (H) features a hanging locker to starboard, and a cupboard with shelves to port, plus drawers beneath the berth. This V-berth has an insert to make a large double berth. The beautiful Grand Banks teak and white interior is evident here. This cabin has its own 16,000 BTU air conditioning system as well as an overhead hatch and two opening windows with screens.
