Grand Banks Winter Boat Inspections
It is a good idea to have us do a thorough inspection of your Grand Banks or any fine yacht before it is winterized so that systems can be run. A simple pre-winter boat inspection can save you money and lost boating time in the spring.
It is much better to spot problems that can be rectified over the winter than to wait for spring when things are hectic. Every year we spot problems during commissioning that could have easily have been fixed during the storage period. These sorts of problems typically cause a late delivery on your boat which cascades to boats behind you in the queue.
Engine Room Inspections
We often spot some problems during the winterizing process but without a proper engine room survey there will be some problems that are not related to any systems that we are winterizing. The best plan is to have us do a complete engine room survey when the boat arrives. We will give you a written report of any deficiencies we find and an estimate to repair those problems.
Typical sorts of problems found in engine rooms
- Bad hoses
- Exhaust leaks
- Bad gaskets and baskets on sea strainers
- Electrical wiring problems
- Rust intrusion on parts
- Fuel and oil leaks
